The Mind Explorers – London premiere and live Q&A, come and say hi!

Recently I posted A new milestone… a new door opened… a new world discovered… #happiness. So what has been this amazing spiritual growth experience that has blown my mind so much?

Inspired by the likes of Stan Grof, Ram Dass and Jason Silva, around 6 weeks ago I have went on the psychedelic retreat in the Netherlands with the UK Psychedelic Society. I’ve taken psilocybin (magic mushrooms) which is legal there in the controlled environment with trained guides and integration (therapeutic) work afterwards.

As if to make it even more surreal, I was offered to take part in a documentary about the retreat which I did – it premieres on December 1st in London, if you want to learn more about psilocybin and how it could be used for spiritual growth (and see me sobbing most of the film), come and say hello.

This was my first time trying a sacred plant medicine and experience was equally terrifying and amazing. It did make me wonder why we class this as a drug when not only mushrooms don’t cause addiction but also the experience itself is far from pure bliss and ecstasy – the mushroom gives you a beating too… It also made me wonder why we do not use this potent medicine which essentially resets the brain to treat mental health issues, addiction and alleviate death anxiety. Turns out we did and we are trying to do so again – the worldwide mental health epidemic has spurred psychedelic renaissance and scientists are working on it (Imperial College in London, Hopkins University in US, etc).

Psilocybin is getting a lot of press lately, as it should, it is a non addictive plant medicine, which has been classed with other drugs in the absence of scientific research and out of fear. There is another documentary that has just come out, also in London, titled Magic Medicine, on the subject of using psilocybin to treat depression, made with the leading British researchers in the field. Check it out. I am going to Dec 9 screening – see you!

Let us know what you find! There are a couple of books and posts recommended on this blog if you search for “psilocybin”.

Look at the research for treating ptsd with psychedelics. I believe MDMA is being used. Go to Maps.org web site to see if there are trials near you that you can take part in. Also if you search for ptsd on my blog, you should find an interesting documentary on the subject.
