Forget happiness! How do you stay sane in times of stress?

Last 2 weeks were mad. My team and myself did not sleep properly and faced some tough timelines while having had to deliver top notch strategic work. What do you do to stay sane, when you have such intense periods in your life?

I meditated each morning. I think this helped massively.

I read top posts on I Fucking Love Science on Facebook. I am so glad I signed up to this account! They do love gory stuff occasionally (that story about little parasites living in our face pores and feeding off our skin oil still haunts me!) but also feature top scientific stories. Nothing better for a tired brain than a mental work out by reading about science and scientific way of thinking. I know it makes no sense but it works!

I watched 2 documentaries on Youtube about the latest breakthroughs in dinosaur research (check this and this videos out).

I’ve realised recently that whenever times get stressful, my consumption of self development stuff shoots up. I finally made time to watch several videos by Tony Robbins who is a motivational coach among many other things. If you have spare time, I recommend you watch at least 3 (just look on Youtube), but if not, watch this one on How to have more energy in life. I did buy pH test strips by the way!

Finally Alain de Botton and Esther Perel have posted some interesting marital relationships/ sex analysis on their Twitter accounts in the last 2 weeks (some of which I wrote about here). I recommend you take a look if this subject interests you.

And writing this blog of course. It gives me perspective. One thing is learning stuff, another one is sharing it with others. Thanks for reading!

I meditate and write and yes, eat up self-growth type things. I also on occasion emotionally eat…but I’m trying to veer away from that!

hey Joy, good luck with staying on course! I bought pH test strips, like Tony Robbins advised, and I hope they will help me make more health oriented decisions! I can see I am not alkaline enough o.O
