101 Craft Projects Under $10

This week has been all about crafts. First, I needed a keyring. I am a bit obsessive about keyrings, because I believe into their power of visualisation (ever since I bought a London keyring and then moved to London). So after extensive googling and search on ebay and not finding what I needed, I decided to – eureka – make one.

I have a ‘creative box’ with various trinkets in it, so I dug it out and found just the thing – a small cute starfish made out of rubber. It’s been there for ages and I wanted to do something with it forever. Why starfish? Because I’ve been dreaming about returning to Canary islands this winter (Fuerteventura!) and so, Universe, here is my hint to you 😉

It was easy. I made a hole in the starfish (plyers, big needle, heat), found a small keyring and attached it to the starfish, then attached it to the bigger keyring with keys. Voila!

Second, I have planned a shoe-shelf-out-of-cardboard project. After moving, I have lots of cardboard, I have found out that my husband has a crafts knife (!!) and I found tips of this amazing upcycling blogger, so I only need tacky and decoupage glue, either which I never heard of before, and I am good to go.

Finally, today I uploaded my Dinosaur Dream onto zazzle and designed my first tshirt with it. Yay!

I’ll close with this. Next time you need to buy something, consider making it. I am not crafty at all, yet making something with your own hands is so mega rewarding that once you plough through fear of failure and perfectionist urges, you will want to do it again and again and again.

I have also bought a book ‘101 craft projects under $10’. Oh my, we’ll see!
